Passionate speaker. Strategist. Innovator. Writer. 30-year healthcare veteran. Free-market health reform advocate. Co-Founder & CEO of freshbenies – a four-time Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company. Coffee addict. Born a Canadian, now a proud American.
Reid grew up in Canada, earned his degree in Health Administration, and formed his opinions on government-run healthcare early. In 1991, he “escaped to America” and spent two decades inside the system, working for two health insurance carriers and two general agencies.
As the Affordable Care Act took shape, Reid grew increasingly concerned about rising out-of-pocket costs and the lack of consumer control in healthcare. In 2009, he launched freshbenies, an employee benefit designed to cut healthcare cost and confusion for employers and employees.
Today, freshbenies delivers a “fresh approach to benefits” through practical, high-value tools like advocacy navigation, behavioral and general telehealth, and Rx savings – helping clients save over $100 million in unnecessary medical costs to date.
